🏛️ PERIOD, ART STYLE, ERA

These vases are outstanding examples of Neoclassical and Louis XVI style decorative sculpture — a visual language that governed French and European interiors in the second half of the 18th century and was continuously revived through Historicism, the Second Empire era, and into high-end 20th-century interior decoration.

The vase body — cylindrical with a gently swelling profile — rises from an acanthus leaf socle on an octagonal plinth. The body carries a high relief programme of multiple putti figure scenes: children with grape clusters, floral garlands, and amorini at play — the classical Neoclassical symbols of abundance, love, and joy. Between the putti scenes are mascaron-type faces and garland swags. At the top, a bead frieze and acanthus leaf crown form the transition to the lid.

The lid is conceived as a generous acanthus leaf dome — each leaf precisely rendered in relief — crowned by a central finial figure: a winged putto seated on draped fabric, with a characteristic infant gesture. The lid edges are decorated with vine and fruit garlands.

The material — composite or high-quality resin — is painted in white with grey patina shading in the recesses, excellently imitating the appearance of biscuit porcelain, alabaster, or fine stone. The interior shows an unfinished dark material surface, consistent with a resin or composite core.
