Izgatavots aptuveni 19. gadsimta otrajā pusē — visticamāk laikposmā no 1860. līdz 1890. gadam. Stils apvieno Napoleona III eklektismu ar Neorenensanses un Groteska motīviem, kas bija raksturīgi reprezentatīviem aristokrātiskiem un augstās buržuāzijas interjeriem. 🏛️ PERIOD, ART STYLE, HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Made approximately in the second half of the 19th century, most likely between 1860 and 1890. The style combines Napoleon III eclecticism with Neo-Renaissance and Grotesque motifs, typical of prestigious aristocratic and upper-bourgeois interiors of the period. The central element — a highly expressive bearded male face of the mascaron type — is a direct reference to Renaissance and Baroque decorative tradition, in which the faces of Neptune, Zeus, or ancient Greek philosophers were used as architectural and furniture ornament. The lower section features lush acanthus leaf and rocaille scrollwork, echoing the earlier Rococo tradition. The upper section is crowned with a palmette ornament. Wall consoles of this type were an essential feature of French, Belgian, and Russian Imperial estate reception rooms and entrance halls.

⚜️ MAKER AND FOUNDRY MARKS
A wall-mounting hole is visible on the reverse, but no clearly legible maker’s mark has been identified. The quality, weight, and finely chased cast bronze surface point to a high-grade French or Belgian foundry — most likely one of the major Paris or Liège manufacturers that specialised in representative decorative elements for aristocratic interiors during the second half of the 19th century. The white marble oval top is original and intact.
